John Proulx performs at Classic Pianos

John Proulx, extraordinary pianist, singer, composer and recording artist, is returning to Classic Pianos. Scroll down to see the details. Equally at home with hot swinging grooves as he is with poignant, lovely ballads, John Proulx is not to be missed! His recordings have achieved national and international acclaim. He has shared stages with the likes of Anita O'Day, Natalie Cole, Marian McPartland (as a guest on her acclaimed radio program "Piano Jazz"), Michael Feinstein (on his radio show "Song Travels"), Melissa Manchester, Al Jarreau, Greg Walker, Joe LaBarbera, Chuck Berghofer, Larry Koonse, Bob Sheppard, and many more. The celebrated pianist, arranger, composer and recording artist Alan Broadbent composed three string quartet arrangements on Proulx's album Say It. George has produced Broadbent at several Classic Pianos concerts over the years, the most recent one being a sold-out concert on Jan. 5, 2024. And John has taken a trip to GrammyLand! His composition "These Golden Years", co-written with lyricist D. Channsin Berry, was included on Nancy Wilson's Grammy winning CD Turned To Blue. John has also composed for Mary Stallings, Melissa Manchester, Al Jarreau, and Greg Walker. And now, treat yourself to John's beautiful composition "Stuck In A Dream", composed with lyricist K. Lawrence Dunham. It is no wonder that Portland's audiences won't let John Proulx leave until he includes "Stuck In A Dream"!! Do you hear the resemblance in John's voice to trumpeter Chet Baker's singing?
