The show will feature four internationally acclaimed blues musicians who relish in the performance of old school traditional blues. Each year the Cascade Blues Association hands out "Muddy Awards" to the finest blues musicians and venue in the Northwest. The Lake Theater & Cafe won the Muddy Award in 2016 for best venue and this show will feature artists that have accepted many Muddy Awards over their lifetime. Alan Hager on guitar, Mitch Kashmar on harmonica, Jimi Bott on drums, and Dean Mueller on bass.

The leader of the event will be this year's Muddy Award winner for Best Electric Guitar, Alan Hager. As a educator, performer, and a lifelong student of the music and life of Muddy Waters, Alan will be sharing with the audience both the music and the history of this great blues legend.

A Muddy Waters shows is not the same without harmonica, and filling the shoes of the great Little Walter will be this years Muddy Award winner for Best Harmonica, Delta Groove recording artist Mitch Kashmar. Mitch Kashmar is one of the most soulful and powerful blues singers in the business today, black or white; his blues harp playing is second to none for creativity, drive and excitement. Mitch will be playing harmonica and sharing the singing duties with Alan throughout the night.

Last year's Blues Music Award for best drummer went to Portland's own Jimi Bott. Jimi has received so many Best Drummer Muddy Awards that they named the awards after him. There is no one better or more qualified in the world to bring the old school blues drumming to this event.

And finally, on the upright bass will be the multi Muddy Award winning Dean Mueller. Dean started the Lake Theater & Cafe Music Monday series in June of 2014 and it earner the 2016 Muddy Award for Best Venue. As a faculty member at Port Townsend Blues workshop, Dean has had the opportunity to play upright bass with many of the blues greats past and present. As one of the dwindling few who still play blues on the doghouse, he will deliver the blues bass as it was originally conceived.

The Music Monday series features top jazz, blues and roots artists from throughout the region. Originally built in 1940, the recently restored Lakeside Theater and Café is a state-of-the art concert facility, with a beautiful lakeside view and a full-service bar and restaurant.
